The ozone is an inorganic molecule with the chemical formula O3. It is a pale blue gas with a distinctively pungent smell. It is unstable and for this reason has to be used soon after its production. Given its oxidant power, ozone is employed in several fields to disinfect both air and water; for example, industrially it is used to:

• disinfect aqueducts water;
• sanitize swimming pools water;
• disinfect drinking water;
• disinfect food-contact surfaces;
• disinfect indoor air to neutralize mould spores and bacteria, etc.

The ozone is also employed in medical field to purify environments (such as operating rooms, medical studies, veterinary clinics, etc.).

Considering the various properties of this element, Bluwood has recently added, amongst its services, a treatment for sanitizing boats interiors, so as to neutralize any odours on board (gasoline, grey water tanks, stagnant bilge water, etc.) and microorganisms which can easily proliferate in such environments.

Further, throughout the use of this device in the fan-coils, it is possible to sanitize air-conditioning conduits attacked by moulds, resulting from long periods of idleness.
